Now that 110 film is back in circulation, there's never been a better time to grab one of Yashica's little gems.
This little beauty - the Atoron Electro - has just appeared in New in the Box condition. As soon as the 22.5v battery arrives for the flash, we'll be good to go. Somewhere there's a classic Minolta 16 lying around so it will be fascinating to compare the Yashica with Minolta's superb spy camera. I'll report back in due course.

I might just have to dig mine out of the cave, Graham, that is if I can come to grips with the price of the film.

I might just have to dig mine out of the cave, Graham, that is if I can come to grips with the price of the film. PF You are right about film prices although buying from the Far East can be cheap but I'd always be nervous about fogging.
I ordered some Lomography B&W Orca 100ISO film at £10.99 (which translates to $13) which would definitely be cheaper in the US and Europe; it has a very good reputation. I know somewhere I have a boxed Pentax 110 set I bought 20 years ago though I haven't spotted it for years...probably among the many items that have 'disappeared' during my many house moves over the last 10 years or so....

OK - I know I shouldn't but I could not resist; I swapped a spare Atoron Electro for this lovely little set...
Atoron full set 1968
Note the very rare Telephoto add-on lens included.
It came with the original receipt from 1968 and its unused warranty card.

That's quite a find. Just a couple of points. First, Yashica made great "Minox" film cameras, 16mm cameras, and 110 cameras. All of these came be reloaded with film -- some easier than others. Details can be found at:
Reloading yourself makes these cameras very inexpensive to use -- assuming you do your own developing, etc.
Also, I never heard that Yashica made a tele-converter for their Atorons. Does it fit on all of their Minox-sized cameras or just this version. Can you guess the power? 2X? I know they made two close-up lenses and filters. Did you score those as well?

Hi xkaes,
They made quite a few accessories for the Atoron and Atoron Electro.
Sadly, I don't have most of them; you can see the ND4 and 80B filters in the photo, next to the cut-out for the flash battery; I also have the Y2 with the Electro. I don't have the Close-Up Lens Set, Self-Timer, ST-9 Grip/Tripod, Tripod Adapter, Copy Stand or Enlarging Lens.
I would estimate the Telephoto Lens as having a 2x power. They did not offer this accessory for the later Electro model, probably because demand for a telephoto for the Atoron would have been much lower than for its close-up sets. I have not seen the telephoto attachment being sold anywhere for a very long time; it's beautifully made (dedicated for the Atoron like the Close-Up set which slides along the grooves at the front of the camera) and produces a surprisingly sharp central image but the edges are soft and somewhat distorted. It's simply marked with Yashica and Japan etched into the metal surround - there is no specification as to its telephoto capability.
