Hi Folks,
I just thought I'd share with you my efforts at creating a comprehensive collection of Yashica's M42 cameras. As for as I can tell, although every type is represented here, two variations are missing: the black version of the J-3 and the TL Electro X with the black 'X' in place of the red and no logo on the pentaprism. Having seen the ridiculous price being asked for the black J-3, I don't think I'll ever be adding it to these beauties... My apologies for the lack of ironing of the infinity background sheet!

He! He! Maybe ..... never! Back in 2004, when I was updating my mega-chart. I came across this on Ebay and the owner said he had compared it to the Penta J and apart from the obvious difference, all other features matched exactly (he said)! An interesting variation? I think I have saved a few email exchanges about this little oddity somewhere ....... but where did I put them? I'd be interested in your comments.   |

Wow - that is one camera and lens I've never heard of! I wonder what it's provenance is? The only IDEAX lens I know about is a medical lens made by Fujinon a long, long time ago. What an amazing find...

I've never had much luck with looking for M42 Yashicas. They always wind up being mechanical misfits.
