Is there any Yashica lens wich creates the lovely "soap bubble bokeh" like for example the Meyer Görlitz trioplan lenses do?

I don't know any Yashica, but Fujinon 55mm 2.2 does.

I would assume you'd need lots of aperture blades to create a (nearly) perfectly rounded hole to create this effect. Hence, most lenses with automatic aperture would not qualify in the first place, and certainly no Yashica lens I know of (I may be mistaken though).

I think the optical formula is more important than the aperture blades as the best bokeh is produced wide open.

But soap bubble effect sometimes is stronger when stopped down. See Jupiter for example. I guess it depends on the lens.

Yay got this page open ; ) Was at my mothers with a Helios 44-2 and Yashica ML80-200, only lens I had with me. I thought of this thread so had a play with shiny leaves in trees. I was able to get masses of nice looking bubble action with the 80-200 and play with there size using the focus but in the same spot and the Helios couldn't get anything. I should look into this more with other lens next time i'm out, nothing around home for bubbles but i'll look harder.
So specifically speaking of Yashica lens for bubble the ML80-200 is highly capable for it in the right conditions and i'll post the one shot I took when the films developed. Shots with bubbles are not just the lens I think, also just finding the subject at the correct distances hopefully with something interesting in focus between the camera and out of focus area and the person holding the camera counts :;

Ahh - an interesting observation;...one man's bubble is another man's doughnut....
