Well,I learned one thing today, Michael. Eastman Kodak, and Kodak Alaris are two different companies. Good to hear that Ektachrome is coming back, even though I was never a big fan of it. Likely because I shot it with cameras that had iffy meters, or shutters. If I used something like my F100, the results would probably be better.

That is great news! I wonder if they'll offer it in other speeds than 100.
What really came as a surprise to me was that Kodak Alaris is re-introducing Ektachrome in Super 8 and that they have already produced a movie camera - that slipped under my radar... I see from their website that they are producing a variety of film speeds for the Super 8 so perhaps they can be expected for still cameras too - 35mm and medium format? Let's hope so...

It's Eastman Kodak that is marketing the movie camera, Kodak Alaris just handles the film side of the company. I've been running into folks lately who are interested in doing Super 8, and looking at old movie cameras to use. Guess the announcement a while back about the new camera got them started. Kodak Alaris has been marketing Super 8 film for quite some time now in a couple of emulsions, but they are too fast for most older cameras.
I got mixed up with the chrome names earlier. They are bringing back Ektachrome, and I was thinking about Elitechrome. That's the stuff I didn't much care for, and after looking through the archives, I did pretty good with Ektachrome.

We will still have to wait until the third quarter of this year. And only in 35mm. I shoot way more slide film with 120 than I do small format. Hopefully, sales will be brisk enough for Alaris to release it in rollfilm or sheets.

Yep, heard that one too ( Kodachrome ) I'll keep my Kodachrome 40 Super 8 in the fridge, instead of throwing them away :-)

PF I wonder if they will be talking to the two fellows who are concurrently perfecting their methods for home development of Kodachrome to find a more environmentally friendly process than the original?
