I hate them. Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate them. Even on the tablet that they are supposed to be designed for, I hate them. Made for the casual visitor, not the user at all. At least they could have fixed the bug that makes copying bbcode on an Apple device impossible, but nooooo. Cache clogging graphically overloaded nonsense. The home page looks like how they used to teach you how not to build a webpage. Like a MySpace page from 1999. Like it was built by a twelve-year-old on WebTV.
OK, done venting for 2016.

All I can say is it works better on my old Pentium 4 desktop than the last iteration did. That is, once I figured out how to work it. They were much quicker this time in fixing some of the problems with it.

You should look at some of the latest low end offerings from Dell, if you want to talk about old CPUs. PF

PF Well, CPUs are not the problem, look all the things people are doing with little things like the Raspberry Pi since it was released some years ago, but of course not with Windows. You do not have to change or update the hardware, change the OS, come to the dark side, join us with Linux @marc, Flickr belongs to the company frequently losing user's private data, but others sell it, invade your privacy, and even charge you for all of that... If you want security, then do not connect or use internet, or any other kind of public computer network/services.

I actually looked into getting Linux at one time, Ariel, back when MS was getting ready to foist Win 10 on everybody. Couldn't find a version that would run on my desktop spec. But then I may have just been confused about what I was looking for.

PF For sure it is a mater of taste and what one is used to, but there are a lot of options out there, maybe we could create a new separated thread to discuss about it (if not created already), for sure all people here have a computer with an OS installed, even we could discuss the different software available to scan and process our negatives.

I see a lot of love around Flickr. With the latest changes (2018), they even have a brand new owner. I have tons of photos there, the community is strong but the platform is outdated compare to instagram. Anyway... prepare for a change in the future. Hope to see flickr back in the game.

They've already started making changes, though still mucking things up as usual (new owner, still same old Flickereenos running the place). Lost my feed for the longest time yesterday although I could still get into my photos okay. When the Feed came back on my phone, I can no longer delete the random photo selections they insert in with my Contacts, though on the laptop I can still select just People to bypass the randomness.
