So i have this absolutely bonkers camera. It works perfectly except for the aperture which stays open when a picture is taken. From my knowledge it should close down on magnification other than 1:15. I don't want to just go for it, seeing how beautiful and flawless it is otherwise.
Anybody did this? I suppose I have to detach the lens, which I would propably do anyway if the camera wasn't so good...

I found this item (although it applies to the MkIII version but I think it will be the same): www.dpreview.com/forums/post/52947750 Drill down to the message from 'guywithyashica' of Jan2014 and you will see how he dismantled the lens from the camera. As the aperture is controlled directly by the camera, you will have to arrange a manual control for the aperture but he shows you how to achieve this. Of course, this assumes that the aperture blades on your lens are OK....I'm not sure how you can get at them to check. I hope this helps.

Thank you very much! I'm in the middle of this thread. Very informative, but I got a different idea from it. If I'm not mistaken I can make a battery box with a switch that will close the aperture down. But first I need to unlock it. I've had some lenses with stuck aperture in the past, which I managed to fix. This one is scary though. Especially since I want to be able to use it on the original body as well.
