Okay, so I was trying to accumulate some lenses in ML and Contax versions, and had one each of the 135/2.8. Then a compact version came up for auction, and I won it. "Now that would make a nice trio for a lens test" I thought to myself.
Alas, when the ML 135/2.8 C arrived, it was trashed. Pretty well beat up is more like it. There were so many dents in the lens barrel, it wouldn't focus, and the bayonet mount is also bent. I did manage to loosen up the focus ring a bit, but it doesn't achieve Infinity.
Oh well, I didn't pay too much for it, and can't get a refund as it was sold "As Is" from a charity site. The glass cleaned up nicely though.

That is irritating but hopefully your money went to a good cause... And of course, you can always wait for another low cost Compact version, perhaps with damage to the front or rear element, and change the glass, ready for your test.

That's a pity. I bought my 135mm C for 12,5 euros.... in pretty good shape, albeit with a little fungus....
I'm sure another opportunity will show up.
