Wow yashimo,
How on earth did someone manage to inflict such damage? That is incredible - it must have been dropped from some great height or hit with something very hard. Those shattered metal rings are not easy to damage. let alone split apart...
The only time I saw something similar was after I had a motorcycle accident and my camera bag and its contents where subjected to intense heat after the bike exploded and caught fire; it was 30 minutes before assistance arrived and put out the fire. The rear mount of my Zeiss 85mm had shattered similarly; thank goodness for insurance...
PS I can't get the second of your photos to expand; it appears to be slightly corrupted. EDIT: The photo's working fine now - horrendous damage...I hope you get your money back! |

I had this problem with my Zeiss 35-70. Apparently it's known to happen. If constructions like the Zeiss there would be 3 screws under the aperture ring come loose, there's nothing broken.
First remove the 4 screws on the back with a good fitting screw driver. The mount and aperture ring all comes off as one exposing the 3 loose screws on the side of lens. Then it's a matter of putting it back together and careful of the ball bearing that makes the aperture click on the correct values, it's easily lost.

This sounds great..i've never worked on my Contax Zeiss & Yashica ML Lenses...because i'm to worried about something could get damaged or broken... |

My lens wouldn't focus anymore and was so loose it felt like it would fall off eventually, so had nothing to loose by trying to fix it. I did go to the Sony distributor repair center here in Adelaide but they wanted $70aus just to look at not including labour or any parts it might need. I think they saw me as a money machine, no thanks.

Yes. i do check it out, but 1st i have to buy a decent screwdriver set for this task, and i'd perhaps need a 3rd hand with loupe, again. Haven't had one since the late 90s.
