Yashica must have made an 85mm manual focus SLR lens at some point, didn't they?

The answer is NO. there was not any prime of 85 mm. There are 3 of them Carl Zeis, Planar 85 1.4 and 1.2 and Sonnar 2.8.
As i have all Yashica zooms that cover 85 mm, my personal view is that: the ML 75-150 mm is the best suitable as portrait lens. In some situations, dedicated portrait lenses can cry against this underappreciated zoom lens.
