Minister DBought this lot today... This Minister doesn't always want to transport the film, after releasing the shutter. I have to press the shutterbutton again until I hear a faint click and after that, the film advances. Is this by design? Or has my Minister developed a fault?

Could be somebody forced it at some point, so things inside aren't working as they should.

Could be somebody forced it at some point, so things inside aren't working as they should. PF Could be, but I suspect some sticky old grease or oil.... Sometimes I can keep transporting film and all of a sudden I can't and have to press the shutterbutton several times until I hear that faint click. Than I know I can transport film again.... Could this be some sticky rod somewhere inside??

I couldn't say without physically inspecting it, since I can't say what your click is doing.

I couldn't say without physically inspecting it, since I can't say what your click is doing. PF On releasing the shutter, I can hear that shutter release... When I press on / further a very faint click is aubible. When I don't hear the faint click, transporting film is not possible. So it seems to be a two step thing. Shutter release AND some way of releasing film advance.... The latter seems slow, sometimes.... Not all the time. If I press firmly and all the way through, most of the time the film advance releases too. I hope someone recognizes this...

I've been operating the self timer a few times.. After that, the formentioned problem seems to be a little less... It's an old camera... Possibly there is some stiff grease present somewhere.... At least I'm able to use the camera.

Yeah, old cameras will get a bit of arthritis. Exercise is the best thing for them, but a good cleaning every so often can work wonders.

True. Same goes for my Vivitar series 1 zoom. Stiff when it arrived. "Used" it without film for a few evenings, just to get it going again. Now it's almost like new. Ever so smooth... It's all mechanical stuff, which has to be used..
