All images well exposed, but lightleaks. Not on every negative, but still. I already have a lightseal kit from Aki...
I hope to revive both FX-3's with it.
I still hope to get some info after scanning regarding the quality of my lenses..

One of my FX-3's has some lightleaks. ( I already hve a set from Aki ) I used this one to shoot a film with all of my Yashica glass, unfortunatelly mainly at fully open aperture. ( I was much too late and the sun was fading away rapidly ) As it turned out I had chosen a rather difficult to colorcorrect situation and haven't used a grey card either. To make matters more complicated still, I downloaded the latest Vuescan software for my trusty ( Old I mena :-) ) Nikon LS30.... And at first all my scans turned out to be all blue. ?? Did Vuescan change? Well, I found a way to messure the blank space inbetween negatives and messure the color of that part. After that more natural colors appeared... Some results --> ( Dutch AFF website ( I'm TTS there also )) --> www.analoogfotoforum.nl/index.php/topic,20217.15.html

That little 50 ML f2 is indeed a stellar performer :-) I also like the 28 ML and the 35 ML... ( And the Zeiss Planar of course ) Even that outsider Sigma 21-35 3,5-4,2 is a keeper. I will have to redo the ML 135 C test. As I'm not entirely happy until now. Maybe the rest of the negatives shot with that lens are better and I simply made mistakes in focussing.. I like the bokeh of that Vivitar Series 1 a lot. Soft dreamy bokeh... Sharpness,... well.. Let's wait... The 50 ML 1,7 seems a very good lens too.
Well, this was a quick first test, to see I can live with my Yashica glass :-) I CAN :-)

Hi tts,
Some very good images there in low contrast light - well done! I'm glad you have some classic Yashica lenses as keepers. The 135 C (and original 135) lenses seem to split audiences - when that happens, you have to suspect that the problem is with quality control. It will be interesting to see how you feel when you reshoot and check the results.
Footnote: Where would many of us be if it was not for the work of AkiAsahi....

He is doing GREAT work. I will reshoot that Vivitar and also the 135 ML C... It was cold and the sun was just above the horizon when I started, but well below when I stopped. So very little light left. It was also COLD.. Which doesn't help a lot in holding still what ever camera one is using. If the C doesn't perform in better conditions, well. I simply buy something else. 12,50 lost ... I will overcome that drama....

Other than the light leaks, and that scary looking angel, you captured the feeling of the marsh quite well.

Dank je wel, tts, for these test shots! I greatly appreciate that you did them at maximum aperture and on film, too, as film is the medium I use almost exclusively. (The usual tests of vintage lenses done with DSLRs are certainly interesting, but their value to me seems somewhat limited as well, film and photoelectric sensors being two entirely different mediums. Thus, to name one example, digital sensors expect the light to hit them at a right angle or else they will produce specific aberrations, so digital lenses must meet different requirements than those you use with chemical film.)
All the more grateful am I for these pics, which show what ML lenses can do with classical SLRs. Quite impressive! (I would, however, try to correct that magenta hue a bit in some of those images).

Hahaaaaa, I'm in the process of learning Darktable, with which I correct my scanned images, since I have to use Linux to use That old Nikon scanner. Also Vuescan and its workflow seem to have changed a lot. I already have more neutral results. I try to correct almost nothing while scanning and do All my colorcorrecting in Darktable now. Big difference.

I bought That LS30 new 19 years ago. From the very beginning I use It with Vuescan. But Man did That program and its workflow change!! I really have to learn scanning All over again. That, the subject, fading sunlight, lightseals, new software combined aren't exactly helpfull to get perfect results easily. But I'm improving. I've never seen scans this soft, comming out of my LS30!!!! IT almost seems to be An All new device to me.Also I have never seen a Blue picture, while previewing in Vuescan. While scanning, That upcoming picture is All washed out and Blue. Never seen That happen before.

Wow, I found a better way to instruct Vuescan together with my LS30, to attack that film :-0 I really have to get to know my own gear again. But I do get more neutral scans out of that LS30 now, with these negs... I scan outputting to tifs, for now. Tried raw ( DNG ) but Darktable shuts off when I try to import them. It's fun to improve upon my previous results. image hosting site over 5mb

Definitely better, though that last one is a bit iffy.
