Nicely done, especially the backgrounds.

I have a Carl Zeiss (Jena) 135mm f3.5 MC Sonnar - I'm frankly in awe of its sharpness and "drawing". It has a manual/automatic aperture switch so works fine with an adapter on my Contaxes (and Fuji X-E1). And it focusses down to one metre.

I have heard good things about the CZJ MC Sonnar 135mm f3.5 including that it outperforms the delightful Olympus Zuiko 135 3.5 on edge-to-edge definition. It's a good lens and you have a good acquisition there; it may not quite be a match for the Carl Zeiss Sonnar 135 f2.8 but it's not far off and is a lot less costly. Have you had any chroma issues wide-open on the XE-1's X-Trans CMOS sensor?

Thanks biggles3! No chroma issues - if I could work out how to post photos larger than thumbnails I'd give an example or two!

I've bought a 135 ML "c" version just a week ago. I knew that it is considered not the best 135mm ever in C/Y Mount, but I paid only 20 euros (less than 25 dollars) for it and as it was in really mint condition I decided that it was worth. I've already shot some photos with it, using colour and B&W films with my FX-3 super 2000 and my 109 Multiprogram, and I hope I will be able to give my impressions in the coming days. I'm quite sure that any Sonnar is better, but performances can vary a lot form piece to piece, and if I got the lucky one of the 135 ML "c" series? I do have exactly the same, 135/2.8 ML "C" - as i know, C stands for compact, and the lens is smaller than the usual 135/2.8 ML before. Haven't tried it yet - but i paid more than you, and mine is also like mint condition.

Here are a couple of shots wide open with a Yashica 135mm ML C on a Canon EOS M3. No PP.

Here are a couple of shots wide open with a Yashica 135mm ML C on a Canon EOS M3. No PP. Well, that's not to bad, is it? Bought a C also. Came with a 135 DSB for free. And the C was 12,5 euro to begin with.. It's really fun that way, to gather ML glas.. :-) Both lenses have malfunctioning apertures. The DSB one doesn't completely open, after taking a shot. The ML one was slow in opening after manually relaesing the pin that manages the aperture... Well, in fact the latter problem is solved now by one drop of oil on the thinghy that comes of when unscrewing the three bajonetmount screws.. Easy fix. Now I have to find an UV light to sent the light fungy to heaven. And than I could do something about the DSB.... Which is more plastic than I anticipated, knowing the all metal DSB 70-210 f4.... And why only focussing to 1,8m
