I recently purchased a YE rangefinder and the spool came damaged. I’m having a hard time finding a replacement. Any advice on similar compatible spools or where to find one?

Welcome to the forum cactus25 ... Usually most of the 'Barnack' type rangefinder clones have a brand-specific spool - but - there are exceptions, and in this case you have another pool to source a donor from. I just pulled both bodies to confirm that a Nicca 3-F spool is interchangeable with the YE. Since Yashica bought all of Nicca's assets and tooling, they basically replaced the knob-winder of the 3-F with a lever-winder and turned it into the YE. That's not to say that anything/everything is switchable, although the bottom plates are also identical if you'd ever need one. Depending on where you are in the world, you might find them from one of the larger used market dealers who has a spare for sale - but you might have to inquire with a specific request rather than see one listed online. Besides the usual source of eBay, here's a few places to look... mwclassic.com (for Leica's and clones), keh.com or usedphotopro.com or victorycamera.com (any/all brands). The only ebay seller I'd think might likely have one, is here: www.ebay.com/str/tokyoskycamera It would certainly be worth contacting him to ask. He sells a lot of Nicca parts and gear.
