Minolta was in a similar situation at the end of their manual focusing camera and lens years. Their cameras were made in China by Seagull (X-700, X-570, X-370, X-9, etc.) and a few of their zoom lenses were made by Tokina and Cosina (28-85mm, 70-300mm) -- perhaps also in China.
The cameras were also sold under the Seagull label, and the lenses under the Tokina and Cosina labels. While the cameras had been designed by Minolta, it's unclear if the lenses were designed by Minolta or not. The Minolta/Tokina 28-85mm was also sold under the Seagull label. Nice lens under any of the labels!
