This listing - from a Chinese seller - was tucked away on eBay, under: Business & Industrial > Electrical Supplies & Equipment > Other Electrical Equipment & Supplies (goof #1). The price asked for a single 100mm Contax Makro-Planar AE model, is $999.00 USD (goof #2 - way overpriced!) The listing is for 5 lenses, and are priced individually, where the seller picks which one you get. (goof #3 - Seriously?) There are a total of 5 photos that generally show what's in stock, but not a single one shows the glass of any lens available, or has multiple views of any more than just 1 lens. (goof #4) There is absolutely no description of anything to do with the items for sale. Plenty of details on payment, shipping, and 'gripe' coverage, but otherwise the only words included are: "Package Included:1PCS" (goof #5, and so much more) From: www.ebay.com/itm/185213925546There was a time I would message the seller and offer a suggestion or two (or 5/6, in this case), but I've stopped trying.

It's always nice to wake up to a good laugh.
Fortunately, the opposite happens as well -- and it can turn out to be in your favor. I've seen this on EBAY and GOODWILL, too.
The seller doesn't know what they have, lists it in the wrong category, with no description, plenty of misspellings (Yashika) and a mediocre picture -- like a photo of a lens with both lens caps on.
Sometimes you can figure out what is actually being sold, the horrible listing turns any competition away, the asking price is so low it's worth the risk, and you find a diamond in the rough.
I was lucky enough a couple of weeks ago, to nab a Sigma XQ 300mm f4.0 with a YS mount for $20 -- in mint condition -- with some other stuff included, that I sold for $40.

The seller doesn't know what they have, lists it in the wrong category, with no description, plenty of misspellings (Yashika) and a mediocre picture -- like a photo of a lens with both lens caps on. ... I had this happen a bit over a week ago with a Yashica D TLR listed under 'Collectibles > Decorative Collectibles > Other Decorative Collectibles'. It had a starting bid of $25, and I was the only bidder... It wasn't in a category that was totally wrong, per se, but it was easy to find in a simple search on all categories because of the correct title for the make and model details. Even funnier still, is that when I did find it after a search, there was under 9 minutes of time left until the auction closed. I figured it was worth a bid at so low a price, and as it turned out, everything was in perfect working order after getting it through a severe cleanup to get rid of the years of grime caked onto it. It's been awhile since I've listed on ebay, but they've done a lot of guided additions to the listing process when done manually, so these off-category listings that still show up seem to be fewer and fewer over time. I won't complain when it happens, but I'm a little surprised when it still does.
