Here we can see two options for copying or macro work using the Yashica Atoron Electro (l) and the original Atoron (r). Atoron copying The later Atoron Electro is atop the Atoron Mini-Tripod and features the addition of the Close-Up Lens plus its dedicated Viewer which offers parallax correction and a bright-line viewing frame. The Atoron is attached to the Atoron Copy Stand. The stand offers three different heights, determined by the legs attached; the additional legs can be seen beneath the stand. By exchanging them for the ones currently attached, the second, prepared magnification ratio is available and in the base of the stand, protruding from underneath the camera, are two copy lenses for these two respective heights. The third option is to attach both sets of legs to each other and then the camera's lens can be used as normal. The bespoke shutter release cable is shown on the Atoron but the same item works with the Electro version too.

All of this is great to know. I know that Minox and Minolta (maybe others) made close-up gear and stands, but I did not know about Yashica! Is it OK if I add this photo and info to the SUBCLUB? All I have is: "a set of two close-up lenses for focusing down to 20 and 40 cm, a self-timer, nylon strap, and an enlarging lens unit (sometimes called an ENLA head).

Hi xkaes Please feel free to use the photo; I'm simply pleased that it is of use.

That Yasjica Atoron parallax-adjusting finder is wild. Minolta had a 25CM extreme close-up lens, but they simply blacked-out the viewfinder because the view was so far off. They instructed users only to apply it with the fixed, close-up stand -- basically 8x10". No wonder G. Gordon Liddy opted for the Minox.

Gordon Liddy - now that's a name I haven't thought about in a very long time! It is interesting to note that the original Atoron and its copy stand followed the Minox example: the stand blocks the viewfinder and the 2 close up lenses are marked 20cm and 40cm. The Atoron Electro is a more sophisticated option, with that parallax-corrected viewfinder and an adapter for use with conventional tripods or monopods, enabling the camera to record images at any angle. Clever stuff...
