Here's something a little different: a Yashica-branded USB film scanner, the FS-500.
Yashica USB 35mm scanner
As you might guess, this is actually a Jebsen product marketed under the Yashica innovate digital brand.
It is USB-powered and works with 35mm negatives, transparencies and mounted transparencies. At the moment, the hunt is on to find drivers compatible with Windows 7, 10 and 11; VueScan may have the solution but I do have a PC which still runs dear old XP and the updated drivers work fine with this set-up.
As implied by its name, it uses a modest 500 pixel CMOS sensor that scan to a resolution of 1800dpi with an output of up to 3600dpi. It won't replace my Plustek scanner any time soon but it's a competent performer within its limitations and was quite well received when it was launched. It was manufactured in China.
