Hi folks, I just spotted this rarity: the Yashica ML 28mm f2.8 C lens. Yash ML 28mm C Does anyone here have any experience of this lens? If it produces decent images, I may see if I can buy it; if it's of indifferent quality, I won't bother...

The only thing I could offer is speculation, and a suspicion that like all the other 'c' versions, it won't likely fall near the IQ quality of any of its predecessors. It might be capable of reasonable results, but rarity doesn't equate to performance and these could be far away from the Tomioka root of the family lens tree if they're made by Cosina or yet another 3rd party. At the right price it could fill a hole in a collection, much like the DX 50mm in C/Y mount. Anything else would be a bonus.

The "c" moniker is mostly likeable standing for "Cosina", rather than compact. Like the Yashica ML 135/2.8 Lens, the "c" version is the one with less IQ in comparsion. Not every lens, because it does have the label "Yashica" on it, is being collectors-worthy.
