Has anyone had any experience with the Konica Hexanon 17mm f16?
I had never heard of it before, and just ran across it by accident.
It's not a fisheye, is fixed-focus, and fixed aperture at f16 -- I think.
I assume it was made for a Konica camera -- with a Leica mount?
It appears to be NON-retro-focus, so can be used on a rangefinder camera or SLR with mirror lock-up.
The prices for it seems to be as expensive as focusing f3.5/f4, retro-focus 17mm lenses.
Any reason why?

Anytime I come across a Konica lens for SLR's, I'd usually end up starting at buhle.de first, and go from there. Unfortunately there's no 17mm lenses listed so it seems unlikely it was destined for use on SLR bodies, with the 21mm being the widest one (in AR mount). There was/is the Konica Hexar RF rangefinder (think in terms of the Contax G1/G2), but even there, no 17mm's are listed as OEM lenses. There might be a Konica 17mm that was meant for process or enlarger use -but- it may turn out to be a cannibalized point-n-shoot lens that's been adapted. I found one "f16" reference to a Konica 'Hexagon' and not a 'Hexanon' that might fit, and it came out of a disposable camera called the "Konica Mini Wai Wai Wide". It was adapted to a Leica M-Mount... blog.livedoor.jp/toshioimawaka/archives/4970430.html (in Japanese)

I've heard of the disposable Konica Mini Wai Wai Wide 35mm with a 17mm lens. It's hard to believe that a disposable with a 17mm lens could be affordable. If I find one, I'll let you know.

You may have better luck with Asia-based seller or auction sites, as I get the impression these might not have been exported very much outside that region from the language used on the packaging. Here's a couple of interesting links: one with sample photos and an M-Mounted adaptation on a Bessa ( filmwasters.com/forum/index.php?topic=788.0), and this one has more samples and also has several camera tear-down photos... www.mobile01.com/topicdetail.php?f=254&t=166175

I did find a new listing for a Konica Hexagon 17mm f/16. I have no idea if it's an original lens or custom mounted... this one has a separate cold-shoe mounted finder and is supposed to be an L39 screw mount. www.ebay.com/itm/133928492151, for $479 USD.
