Happy new year !
I received a TL Super for a good price. Problem is, i wanted to clean the Mirrorbox, because the OVF is being dusty, and by trying to dismount the M42 lens, i found out it's deadly stuck on this TL Super. How could i remove it - without damaging the lens?
Thanks for your help.

I'd always recommend the least damaging method first, and work up from that. 1. Try tying a string soaked in a non-destructive solvent - like the citrus-based Goo Gone - around the lens base at the threaded seam, and let it sit for a day or two before trying to unscrew it again. 2. if that fails, try using watch oil, or the oil used to unfreeze car door locks - IF - it comes from a very small oiler pipette, or you can place a very small drop on a wooden toothpick and get it to wick into the seam. 3. if those fail, use a WD-40 or other penetrating oil as an absolute last resort if solvents are necessary. You might try mechanical means too, like using standard lens filter wrenches at the lens base, or something similar to a car oil filter wrench/spanner - or even a makeshift tourniquet.

Any signs of rust, goo, corrosion, stain, discoloration around the mount?

Hi Guys,
thanks for the infos. I just want to let you know, i am back home, and solved this issue before reading it here, sorry. I was too shy, to grab the Lens with more strenght, because the barrel doing so this way seems to have now 1-2mm of play...but finally, i could screw it off.
Much thanks for the infos Lumiworx, i keep this in mind, and should have some tools, oil handy, when i have a problem like that again.
xkaes - nothing, it looks like mint. I do think, it was the only lens ever being used with this TL Super, so since 1966, and the previous owner just used this lens only with the TL.

My Lens might have a problem - i can set the lens to A - automatic position, with that switch-like thing, close to lens mount, but it doesn't (never) show the opposite - M for manual. It's only A, or the other side A not visible, but no M showing up, on my Yashinon DX 50/1.7 Lens.

That lever should flip from side to side. I'd try to get a couple of drops of 91% isopropol alcohol on the base of the lever. No luck, try a drop of lighter fluid. But if it works in A mode that's the better place to be stuck!

The other side doesn't show the M for manual as usual.

I figured it out last week - the A-M Switch wasn't functioning properly, i pushed it a few more times more with force to both ends, now i can see both "A" and "M" onto the Lens. It's weird, because my 35mm F2.8 DX (which is also black) haven't had these issue...perhaps, because this 50/1.7 wasn't being used for decades...
