It's always exciting buying a camera or a lens but sometimes it's the little things that are really rewarding.... Mixed Yashica Contax accessories This mixed bag of accessories includes 2 rarities - the English language manuals for the Yashica FFT and the J-5; what makes the J-5 rare is that it's the original, segmented version and not the one found with most of the boxed cameras. The other manual is the English one for the Half 17. Accompanying these gems is a Yashica 42mm front cap, two Contax F-3 and one Contax RTS eye-cups and nine filter adapters for the Contax SL300RT* and Kyocera's SL400R digital cameras. And all for just under £15... That FFT manual had proved very elusive!

... That FFT manual had proved very elusive! ... and in my case, so is a good working body. While looking for one over the last couple of years, I've not found one that wasn't highly overpriced. Am I missing some important point on why sellers have such high expectations?

Am I missing some important point on why sellers have such high expectations? High prices are not warranted for such a basic specification although build quality seems pretty good and so far all of mine are performing correctly. I expect it's a case of rarity over common sense; not many made it to the US and Europe. If you want to find one that's sensibly priced, you're probably best getting it from Japan if you can find a low cost shipping option. Although my first FFT was bought from a UK owner, the last two were both from Japan and cost about $20 each plus shipping for bodies with a lens.

That's what I thought too, and of the few I've seen that were listed as working bodies only, they're usually in excess of $75 apiece from Japanese ebay sellers. Add on the usual $20+ shipping and it's even less attractive for me to consider.
And... your mention of eyecups and eyepieces had me digging up earlier posts, and ordering more rectangular type eyepieces suitable for the FX/FR series to pop onto some Yashica and Contax bodies I've gotten over the past year or so. The last bunch I got were the ridiculously cheap Chinese knockoffs, and although they fit, they tend to slip of the backing mount too easily and fall off and 'float away', so this time I went back to the Canon OEM "Eyepiece EF" models for the Rebel series of film cameras.
That prompts me to ask if there might be other equivalents that we could identify for not only the eyepieces and eyecups for the FR/FX models, but also those from any of the other lines, and any other replacement accessories that come to mind beyond just those for viewfinders. Given that it took me 3+ years to find a seperate 90mm Yashica branded slip-on lens cap for the original DentalEye last month, there are several of these types of items that are hard to come by in OEM form, or find something that's a size match to at least make do until a replacement can be found.
I'd certainly be up for creating a new datasheet for anything viable as substitutes for Yashica's OEM versions.

On the accessory front, my biggest problem is metal hood caps.
It annoys me that G-series copies are cheap and plentiful yet nobody makes a copy of the scarce, and therefore eye-watering my expensive K-84, K-94.
It’s taken 7+ years to acquire a handful at anything like sensible prices. My GK-54s were obtained on demand.

If you think prices for the K-84 and K-94 are bad, just try to find a K-841 (80mm) for under £150... Intriguingly, there is one for sale today from a camera shop in Thailand for £10 (caveat emptor) and one on offer on Ebay at the more typical $299 (emptor insanire).
