I stumbled on this list quite by accident when the buyer of the 57mm Konica 1.4 EE I had for auction told me about his intentions to use it on a Sony A7S he was getting converted with a replacement filter for the sensor. It was rather surprising to see some of the recommendations from users who'd tried some of their favorite C/Y lenses and found them lacking. Keep in mind these conversions are permanent, and are not even close to what you'd get with IR sensitive film stock while using legacy glass on 35mm and other analog formats. kolarivision.com/articles/lens-hotspot-list/

Interesting - but I'm still trying to work out how the C/Y Zeiss 50mm f1.4 T* Planar can be simultaneously in the good and poor performance columns.... I wonder if someone forgot to add the AE or MM distinctions to differentiate between the 'good' and the 'bad' ones. I'd guess that the better any of the coatings are in dealing with visible light for film use, the worse they might be for IR use on digital. The updated coatings on the MM versions might have been enough to tip the scales and make them no-go's for infrared. I did get a kick out of the notes on the YUS lenses as being stellar performers for color and sharpness, and not having hot spots (whatever those might actually be). It seems that there are times when budget glass compositions and zero coatings can really pay off a few decades later.
