This is Yashica's fabulous UL Power Zoom 8 camera for standard 8mm film.

This was built to last and weighs in at a substantial 3lbs 8oz (over 1600g). It uses 4 AA batteries for power and a 3v cell for the meter.
It has a superbly sharp zoom lens: a Yashinon-DX 9-28mm f1.8 and the camera offers 3 film speeds. It has a socket for an external remote control but there is no provision for sound.
As with most Yashica movie cameras, the grip is detachable.
