While going down a rabbit hole in search of something else, I came accross a Kyocera FAQ page (in Japanese) updated as of March, 2020 for Contax supprt, and found there might still be two firms in Japan working on them. There's no further details on what repairs they do, or if they have parts... but if you are in or near enough to Japan, try contacting them to inquire about what they can do. From the page above: ・ Repair service Suwa contact 0266-28-6321 (as of March 2020) ・ Obata camera service contact 011-884-3653 (as of March 2020) * Obata camera service repairable models RTS RTS2 139Q 159MT 137MD / MA T

Mark Hama-san, who runs a camera repair service in America, still repairs Contax equipment. He once was Yashica USA's service manager and built TLRs at the Yashica factory in the 60s. When he retired from Yashica, he took a bunch of parts with him and has been able to fully restore two Yashica FX-2s for me to like-new condition with new new mounts, new top and bottom plates, new grips, etc. Full CLA, meter updated to modern alkaline batteries, etc. He maintains contact with mysterious sources for Contax parts in Japan and was able to supply me with a brand-new bottom plate for a Contax RX. www.markhama.comDale

I asked Mark Hama last year for a possible repair, but it turned out sadly way too expensive, plus the secured shipping back & forth, plus customs to pay, which was way over the top,sad but true. If i would have money to burn, anytime repairs into his skilled hands.

Both may work on the same gear, but as far as I know, they have no connection to each other for either repairs or parts.
