I bought a Minister 700 late last year and bought a Minister D to have available in case I needed any spare parts. As it turned out, I sent the 700 off to be serviced and so I put the D to use. The meter does not work on my D so I used Sunny 16 which I didn't always get right. I also forgot to focus on a few occasions; I blame that on having my digital camera with me and being so used to autofocus. Of course, it could just be I'm an idiot So here are a few images from the D (straight from being scanned at AG Labs) shot on Portra 400. The 700 is now back so I'll be selling the D if anyone is interested (UK based). Just drop me a PM.

Seems your MG could do with a bit of servicing too...
Nice pics. The first one is my favourite.

Ha! It is sad to see these lovely old cars in that kind of condition. If I had the money I would rescue all the old 'analogue' stuff including cameras, turntables, cars and bikes and bring them back to life.
Thank you for your kind words.

Portra 400. Focus was off because, yes you guessed it, I forgot to focus again. Still, it was a pretty night.

It might not have been your intent, but I think you've managed to prove something about Yashica designs from the early 1960's without meaning to. They were (and still are) very forgiving cameras that were capable of taking great pictures - regardless of the user's attention to every detail. If you put yourself in the place of the first users of these cameras, they were most likely ex users of old Brownie box-type cameras - the original and literal P&S camera - where they upgraded to this more advanced camera, with actual user controls. Rather than being intimidated by all the technicality, they could confidently pick it up and just go shoot.
The lenses are more than capable of capturing photos with good color, contrast, and sharpness; and it's all wrapped up in an almost bullet-proof package. The 700's LVS isn't a fit for my style (I'm much too fidgity about controlling my own exposures), but it offered help in introducing something new to users. In some ways, it's almost the same now for those coming from a world of cell phone cameras that use only automation, and no real control... to giving them a real creative choice.
The amazing thing is that there's more than a few of these 60+ year old cameras that still do what they're designed to do, and obviously they still do it quite well.

I couldn't agree more. Very forgiving and they do such a good job despite the D not having been serviced in recent times as far as I can tell and being used in the hands of an idiot I am hoping the images I am shooting with the 700 will show that when you actually concentrate on the focus and exposure you can turn out wonderful quality images. We will find out soon enough
