I have an assortment of Yashicas, I have used a couple of them with great results, specially my 635 with 35mm film. And also my Lynx. Looks like a new forum, I hope all goes well.

Howdy,
why another new forum? I "understand" to a certain extent that anyone is having an ego and want's to do something in his/her own. But with a topic with relatively limited audience like Yashica why split the possible visitors and not continue using the Forum at Yashica.org ? Unfortunately it seems that the "other old" forum, yashicaforum.com seems to be gone ... Stefan not reacting to any mails.
Just my 5 cents ... live long and prosper :-)

Peter, welcome to the new forum. I don't think any ego is involved. Most of the members of this forum, and all of the admin and mods, were members at yashicaforum.com, and we are familiar with each other, and we felt that the loss of the old forum left a void. But we always welcome new friends.

I think there is room for both forums in this world Best regards, Adrian

I tried to register at the yashica.org forum and could not. I don't think that it is active any more.

I tried also, you get this kind of error? "The user adrian with Email a...u@gmail.com (IP 81.x96.x5.34) is a Spam, please contact forum administrator."

Welcome to the Forum, Peter. There is always room for more forums on the Internet I logged on today to YashicaForum.org, and found there hasn't been any action since the middle of last year. Since Marcus reactivated it, I don't think the interest has been there because most of the information from before has been removed. I haven't been visiting the site because I've been too darned busy with other cameras to pay any attention to my Yashicas. And if he's no longer allowing new members to join, well, that puts a big damper on things too. I would hope that you find us a friendly bunch, and help us to build this forum with some good information. Photos are always nice, too. PF

I can only second PF's words, Peter. What you will find here is really but a bunch of friendly and more (PF, Greyscale) or less (me ) competent Yashica enthusiasts wishing to share their experience and their passion for vintage cameras. I've known some of those guys for quite a while now, and I can assure you that none of them seems to suffer from any particular ego problem, as far as I can tell. As for me, I feel greatly indebted to Adrian and Mike for resurrecting the old Yashica forum and thus continuing the great job Mattias Wirf started years ago. Cheers and welcome aboard! Michael

Michael, Is not only me and Mike, is also you, Phil and everybody else. You don't have to feel indebted in every way since without you guys there is no YashicaForum. I remember you have some Contax gear also. Maybe is time to create some Threads for that. Can you give it a try? If not I will give you the rights.
Best regards,
Adrian

Best regards, Adrian Adrian, thank you for your offer, but I don't think that it is necessary to open up a separate Contax thread just now. But I have a question to you guys: Do you think it would be a good idea to introduce a sub-section called "Other Vintage Cameras" or so? It's really only a question, seeing that probably none of us have limited their tastes and/or their collections to the Yashica brand, however fond we may be of the cameras of this innovative (and still rather underrated) manufacturer. But, to be honest, I am anything but sure myself if such an additional category wouldn't water down the original intention and 'corporate identity' of this forum, so to speak. What do you think? Michael

I'm only Yashica fanboy plus some digital but I have nothing against "Other Vintage Cameras". If others agree we should have this great section also.

I would like a vintage camera subforum as well.
